Maddox Hyde, 14, from DuBois, PA is asking for a simple gesture from you this holiday season. With being told that he has only a few weeks to live, all he wants this year is Christmas Cards. Maddox is currently receiving treatment for neuroblastoma at the Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. With hopes to receive cards from all around the world, you can help contribute. Pittsburgh native, Leon Ford will be running for the District 9 City Council. Six years ago, on November 12, 2012, Leon fell victim to police brutality after being shot and left paralyzed from the chest down. His purpose for running for council is to help restore hope and create a new economic opportunity for the city of Pittsburgh. He also wants to promote healing to make the community safe, vibrant, prosperous, and livable for all. “Some people underestimate the transformational power of love, but they will soon see how infectious, impactful, and powerful it truly is.” Leon says.
